Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sheetmetal Designer, ideally with knowledge or experience in CNC programming, to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the production of precision sheet metal products from design through to programming.
While hands-on programming experience is desirable, full training will be provided for the right candidate. This role has a clear progression path and will evolve into a Programming Team Lead position making it ideal for someone with leadership potential and long-term career ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
CAD Design
- Create detailed product drawings using CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks.
- Develop accurate, production-ready drawings in collaboration with surveyors and estimators.
- Support the seamless transition from design to manufacture with precise documentation.
- Manage tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
Programming
- Program laser cutting and turret punch machines using CAD data.
- Interpret CAD drawings and technical specifications to generate accurate CNC programs.
- Optimise CNC programs for efficiency and material usage.

- Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and machine operations.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of machine troubleshooting and process optimisation.

The Role – Product Design Engineer
This is a hands-on role combining design, CAD/CAM programming, and manufacturing collaboration.
You will be responsible for designing products, creating production-ready drawings, and developing programmes for manufacturing, working closely with internal teams to ensure efficient delivery.
This role would suit someone with at least 12 months’ experience in SolidWorks and programming, who is looking to build on their skills within a growing business.

Product Design & Development
- Design and develop products in line with customer and project requirements

CAD / CAM & Programming

The Role – Estimator
This is a key commercial role within the business, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of bespoke manufacturing and construction projects.

Working as part of the paint line team, you will be responsible for the application of powder paint & the associated operations.
Reporting to: Paintline team leader
Responsibilities
- The setting & operating of powder coating equipment.
- The manual application of powder paint, using a controlled & even technique to ensure the coating & coverage is uniform.
- The setting & operation of automatic powder reciprocators.
- The identification, collection & stock transfer of powder paint, ensuring quantities, batch & specification is accurate & complete.
- Loading the overhead conveyor with products, ensuring line gaps are minimised & production is maximised.
- The testing & adjustment of pre-treatment fluids to the required frequency.
- Packing & securely wrapping finished products prior to despatch.
- The maintenance of plant & equipment to the prescribed frequency.
- The logging & data entry of production operations onto the company FMS platform.
- Maintaining quality control for all operations & to procedures.
- Reporting any plant, quality, safety & operational concerns to the team leader or production manager.
- Following all Health & Safety Procedures.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by Management.

The Role – Project Surveyor & Estimator
This is a varied and hands-on role combining site surveying, estimating, and project coordination, taking projects from initial enquiry through to delivery.
You will attend sites across the UK, gather key project information, and use this to develop accurate quotations, drawings, and project plans.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical, commercial, and site-based work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Planner / Scheduler to coordinate and optimise production activities within our sheet metal manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating efficient production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery, and balancing workload across departments such as laser cutting, bending, welding, and finishing. Working in an extremely fast paced environment with a strong “can do” mentality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders, capacity, and material availability
- Coordinate workflow between departments including CNC laser, punch, press brake, fabrication, and painting.
- Monitor production progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts or delays
- Liaise with procurement to ensure raw materials are available in line with production plans
- Collaborate with commercial and customer service teams to prioritise urgent or high-value orders
- Optimise machine utilisation and labour efficiency to meet productivity targets
- Track and report on KPIs such as on-time delivery, lead times, and work-in-progress levels
- Present weekly capacity to the business & confirming any constraints
- Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in planning and scheduling processes

Required Skills & Experience

Job Summary
The Powder Coating Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily powder coating operations within a Qualicoat-accredited facility, ensuring full compliance with Qualicoat standards. The role ensures consistent product quality, process control, team leadership, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of coating operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all powder coating processes comply with Qualicoat Specifications and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain documentation and traceability as required by Qualicoat.
- Oversee in-house laboratory testing (adhesion, gloss, thickness, impact, curing checks).
- Coordinate internal audits and external Qualicoat inspections.
- Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
- Production Management
- Supervise daily powder coating line operations (pretreatment, drying, coating, curing, inspection).
- Monitor line speeds, oven temperatures, and curing cycles.
- Ensure correct powder storage and batch control.
- Optimize workflow to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
- Reduce rework, rejects, and waste.
- Technical Oversight
- Ensure correct pretreatment processes (e.g., chromate-free systems, cleaning, etching).
- Verify coating thickness meets specification requirements.
- Troubleshoot coating defects (orange peel, poor adhesion, pinholes, contamination).
- Liaise with powder suppliers and technical representatives when required.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and train powder coating operators and quality technicians.
- Conduct performance evaluations and skills development.
- Schedule & prioritise work to the most effective ways.
- Enforce health and safety procedures.

- Equipment & Maintenance
- Ensure spray booths, recovery systems, ovens, and pretreatment systems are maintained.

- Monitor chemical handling and waste disposal procedures.
- Maintain clean and organised work areas (5S standards).
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or technical certification in Manufacturing, Surface Finishing, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in powder coating operations.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Qualicoat standards and audit requirements.
- Understanding of aluminium architectural coating requirements.
- Experience with quality testing equipment (coating thickness gauges, curing ovens, adhesion testers).
