Key Responsibilities

CAD Design

  • Create detailed product drawings using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks.
  • Develop accurate, production-ready drawings in collaboration with surveyors and estimators.
  • Support the seamless transition from design to manufacture with precise documentation.
  • Manage tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.

Programming – we will provide training and extensive guidance by a mentor

  • Program laser cutting and turret punch machines using CAD data.
  • Interpret CAD drawings and technical specifications to generate accurate CNC programs.
  • Optimise CNC Laser and Turret Punch programs for efficiency and material usage.

About You

  • Technically minded with a passion for precision and process.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Looking to step into a leadership role and influence how programming is delivered across the business.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ experience in sheet metal CAD design.
  • Preferably experience in programming CNC machine tools (laser cutters and/or punching machines).
  • Highly proficient in CAD software, especially Sheetmetal toolsets in SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of downstream CAD/CAM process, ideally SigmaNest (or similar).
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and machine operations.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools and measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of machine troubleshooting and process optimisation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £32,000 – £36,000, depending on experience
  • Clear career progression into a Team Lead role
  • Ongoing training and development
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunity to influence IT-driven manufacturing improvements
